Nancy Jo Andrade was a registered nurse, an equestrian and the mother of two small children. Her family last saw her alive on August 23rd 1982. Her disappearance became national headline news.
Following a three-year private investigation it was revealed that Nancy Jo had been murdered.
Her killer was eventually caught, tried and convicted due to an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence despite the lack of physical evidence including Nancy Jo’s body.
This was the first judgment of its kind in US history.
Stacey Andrade King is Nancy Jo’s daughter. She was twelve years old at the time of her mother’s murder.
Stacey is the mother of a bi-racial family. Together with her husband Robert A. King they have raised four children.
The family founded the non-profit Captain Robert A. King Scholarship Foundation in 2009 for “at risk youths” for both military and single parent families, providing opportunities for college education.
Stacey founded NJE to honor her mother, by improving people’s lives in meaningful and lasting ways. As the mother of a mixed-heritage family, Stacey recognized the importance of justice in achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion in today's society.
